A collaboration for those living post-religion
A 7-Week Program for Spiritual Survivors
Reclaim Your
Inner Wisdom
Practical tools to quiet the critical voice and reconnect with the guidance that was always yours.
If you have spent years measuring yourself against rules that were never yours to begin with, this program offers something different. Not a new belief system. Not another authority to trust. Just neuroscience-backed tools to help you hear yourself again.
A natural next step for those moved by Dr. Hillary McBride's work on healing and embodiment, including her book Holy Hurt, presented through the Wisdom Centre.
Cohort begins April 8th at noon MST, 12 spots maximum
You are welcome here
The voice that said you were not enough was never divine
Many people who have experienced religious harm carry a relentless internal critic that was taught to sound like God, or conscience, or truth. In the Positive Intelligence framework, we call this a Saboteur. And it can be unlearned.
This program does not ask you to replace one belief system with another. It includes no dogma or theology. It helps awaken your own spiritual awareness, by being present with your nervous system.

About the Wisdom Centre
The Wisdom Centre has been creating a safe and generous space for spiritual exploration in Calgary since 2007. Founded within the Anglican tradition but never confined by it, the Centre brings together theologians, spiritual explorers, and interfaith partners to open up conversational room for the doubters and the hopeful, those on the edge of faith and those who are all in.
Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Jane Rowland, whose own theological work focuses on trauma and spirituality, the Centre has become a trusted home for people reimagining what it means to live a spiritual life outside the walls of traditional religion.
We partnered with the Wisdom Centre because there is a whole generation of people who have deconstructed or are living post-religion, but still want to connect with something bigger than themselves. We believe spiritual vibrancy is possible without having to abandon or ignore themselves in the process.

Nancy Shadlock has been there too
Nancy is a conversion therapy survivor, a former pastor, a mom and proud queer person who spent years living according to rules that were not hers. She knows what it costs to perform for others' approval, and she knows what it feels like to finally stop.
She brings a Masters in Spirituality, over two decades of facilitation experience, and a deep personal understanding of what it means to rebuild from the inside out. Her approach is warm, playful, and never preachy. Nancy will not tell you what to believe. She will help you hear yourself again.

"I had already been on a long path to unpack the religious trauma of my childhood, but Nancy's program was life-changing. It moved the concepts of healing from my head and directly into my nervous system. Before this, I was constantly hijacked by fear-based scripts and a relentless inner critic. Nancy gave me the tools to finally name and tame those voices before they could ruin my day. What surprised me most was how practical it became to actually rewire my mind. Instead of being trapped in a cycle of shame and accusation, I now have a way to pause, re-center, and choose a path of steady peace. I'm walking away with a clear pathway back to a sense of wholeness that I thought I had lost forever. I'm finally learning how to trust myself again."

Questions
Things people often ask
Do I need to have any spiritual beliefs to participate?
No. The program is grounded entirely in neuroscience. It works whether you identify as spiritual, agnostic, atheist, or still figuring it out. Your theology is entirely your own.
Is this therapy?
No. This is a Mental Fitness training program, not clinical treatment. If you are currently working with a therapist on religious trauma, this program can complement that work beautifully. If you are in acute crisis, please prioritize clinical support first.
I am nervous about being in a group. What can I expect?
That nervousness makes complete sense. The group is capped at 12 people and held by Nancy with care and clear boundaries.
What if I cannot afford the suggested price?
The sliding scale starts at $500. You choose your amount when you register on Lu.ma. If even that is a barrier, reach out to us directly at
[email protected] and we will find a way.
